Cabin Devotion with Miss Abby
Let it be known, in You alone my joy was found
Prayer:
Philippians 1: 8-11
For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Hello ladies!! As I was preparing for this devo I listened to a song that struck me and I’d like to share it with you. In the song, the singer prays:
“If my heart could tell a story If my life would sing a song If I have a testimony If I have anything at all;
No one ever cared for me like Jesus His faithful hand has held me all this way And when I'm old and gray and, all my days Are numbered on the earth Let it be known, in You alone My joy was found.”
This prayer is so simple and beautiful. It really hit me that the biggest legacy we should hope to leave in this world is that Jesus loves us and we loved Jesus. That our love for the Lord influenced every decision we made, every part of our lives, and every relationship we ever had. “Jesus loves me” should be our biggest takeaway from life. I hope and pray that when people think of me and my life their first thought is, “She really loved Jesus so much”. I pray that for all of you as well. In Philippians 1, Paul says
“Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, 19 for I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. 20 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that through my being with you again your boasting in Christ Jesus will abound on account of me.”
Paul knows that true life is lived with Jesus. True joy and peace is only found in Jesus. Paul rejoices with the Spirit that lives in him for the great works that God is doing in and through him. He goes on in verse 27:
“27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel 28 without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God. 29 For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him, 30 since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.”
So I encourage you girls in this: whatever happens in your life, you would live your life full of Jesus’ love and peace. You would show love to every single person you meet. I pray you would be lights of Christ even in the most trying of times. I pray for you to be filled with joy and peace in knowing that Jesus loves you!
With love,
Miss Abby
