Counselors In Training

Updated: Aug 22, 2019

Hello from Tapawingo!

We have just completed Week 2 of the CIT Program.

This past Monday the girls spent a lot of time in the Word, doing Bible study and studying spiritual disciplines and prayer. They had an assignment to teach each other and their counselors more about prayer. They were also assigned a spiritual discipline to study and taught a lesson to the rest of the group. On Tuesday the girls had a chance to put these disciplines into practice when they hiked two high peaks in the Macintyre Range. On Wednesday the girls participated in a group workout that pushed them emotionally, physically, and mentally in ways that helped them understand the importance of unity and working together as a team. On Thursday, the group went to 13th Lake and spent the day in silence and solitude, giving the girls a chance to practice fasting. For many, this was the first time that they participated in a fast. It was an opportunity for them to step away from the hustle and bustle of the world (and camp) in order to hear the still, quiet voice of the Lord in nature. Today the girls spent time at CAMP-of-the-WOODS volunteering in a variety of ways - they helped the head of grounds to prune bushes and then helped the Hill Dining Hall Staff through service. They also went on a challenging run.

We can't believe it's the end of Week 2 and we are setting up for banquet once again. We can't wait to celebrate what the Lord has done this week.

In Christ,
