Session Two recap

Session 2 has arrived at Tapawingo! Our campers have continued diving into Psalm 23 and exploring what it means to have Jesus Christ our Savior as our Shepherd. Miss Kieran kicked off our week with a beautiful and clear presentation of the Gospel, explaining that an encounter with Jesus can transform our lives. In power hour, she encouraged campers to live with a fear of God that allows us to live free of the fear of man. Reverend Jeff Quinn spoke to us about how we can change our day, our friends, and communities by remembering that change begins inside of each of us. Miss Brielle challenged our campers to love God with our whole heart by giving Him our everything, and Miss Caitlin spoke to them about having godly and biblical strength in Christ. We thank God for using our Vespers speakers to challenge our campers and fuel their desire to pursue Jesus even after their time at Tapawingo.

It was a rainy week on the island, but that did not stop our campers! Event hours were patriotic this week, and kicked off with a version of Capture the Flag that got our “Founding Fathers” involved in the fun. Later in the week, the campers played a Fourth of July themed trivia game and other rainy-day activities. Hikes, banana boating, sailing, and overnights continued, challenging the campers to grow in competence and excellence, and to do everything to the glory of God.

We are so thankful for the Lord’s clear presence and provision on the island this summer. We are only two weeks into the summer and are already so encouraged by God very clearly moving and working in the hearts and minds of our campers! It is a privilege and blessing to partner with the Lord in ministry, and we thank Him that He has allowed Tapawingo to be a safe haven and place of joy yet again for so many this summer. We are all looking forward to the rest of the summer in hopes that we might be able to love, serve, and encourage each and every girl that steps onto the island. Thank you to you all who are praying for our campers and staff as we move onto session 3!

“Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
