Summer 2020 Reflections with Miss Joy
Dear Tapawingo Community,
Today is what we call, "Closing day."
We may not be shutting down the physical island as a staff today or celebrating in person what the Lord has done...
And yet, there is so much to be thankful for within the Tapawingo community.
Here are some of my (Miss Joy's) highlights from Summer 2020 - All praise to the Lord!
-2 weeks of virtual camp with 14 campers (here's what one mom had to say)
"Dear Tapawingo,
I want to reach out to you to thank you for creating this virtual Tapawingo experience. It has absolutely been the highlight of my daughter's summer so far! I cannot possibly thank Miss Sarah and Miss Liesl enough for their amazing leadership throughout the week - they were phenomenal! My daughter has gotten so much out of it - the activities, the projects, the games and songs, and most of all, the precious worship and devotional times. I have been overwhelmed by how much of the genuine Tapawingo experience you were able to pack into this 'virtual' format. We are so grateful! We will continue to pray for the vital ministry and staff of Tapawingo."
-Tapawingo Virtual Camp Mom
-A tapestry of different Tapawingo Staff generations coming together to create exercise videos, cabin devo blogs, craft ideas, Tapawingo recipes, Power Hour Bible teaching, Vespers worship and Bible teaching, and 2 LIVE Zoom Bonfires
-(My personal favorite was the CIT worship video of 6 former campers getting together to do lead worship together virtually).
One mom had this to say:
"Hi Tapawingo,
Despite not being able to have camp at Tap this summer and the huge disappointment it was for Tap's whole community, I must say that you all have been a shining light in a dark world. How your counselors have involved themselves in a variety of interesting, fun and serious posts is really all glory to God. Today's post by Miss Brooke was amazing. Thank you to the staff for working so creatively to bring the gospel to your community in wonderful ways. May the Lord continue to bless and encourage you all. We love Tapawingo."

-Studying the book of Matthew together and "Seeking First the Kingdom - Matthew 6:33-34"
We pray that God's Word will dwell in you richly this year and that you will continue to, "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. And all these things will be added unto you. Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself." -Matthew 6:33-34
